Sunaina Art

Nepal-based traditional artist Sunaina Thakur is known for her Mithila folk traditional art work across the world. She under gone several trainings on Mithila art. With her creations she has exhibited her solo show in Nepal and abroad. She has received many honours for her paintings. Mithila culture or Maithil culture refers to the culture which originated in the Mithila region of the fodian subcontinent, Mahila comprises Tirhut, Darbhanga, Kosi, Parnia, Munger, Bhagalpur and Santhal Pargana divisions of India and some adjoining districts of Nepal. King Nimi was the first ruler of the Videha kingdom. Then king Mithi, supposedly called by the sune Mithila, came after him. His son king Janaka(1st), was the first lanaka. "I am dedicated to promoting the rich cultural heritage of Nepal through the traditional art form of Mithila painting.
